Paul became in 1989 a Charterhouse Group Entrepreneur when the firm backed him to purchase Fleer Corp., the sports trading card and confections business. In 1997, following Fleer's rapid growth and Charterhouse's earlier successful realization from the investment, Paul assumed the CEO role of Del Monte Foods, another Charterhouse portfolio company. When Charterhouse successfully exited from this investment in 1999, Paul joined the firm full-time as a Strategic Partner.

Previously, he was employed for 20 years in numerous consumer products marketing, sales and general management positions at Nestle, General Mills and Leaf. His experience included being President of the Donruss Division (trading cards) at General Mills and as the President of Leaf (confections).

Paul holds both a B.S. and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, where he today serves as a Trustee.
